Well, summer has said its goodbyes but the taxi hasn't turned up yet so we are in that socially awkward bit where nobody knows quite what to do but Fear Not! BeachPeople has the answer; Let’s Go Surf!

Despite awesome promise on MSW the big waves failed to materialise this weekend. We toured from Sandbanks right the way through past Milford on Friday and learned a lot about Surf SUPs from a tiny little outlet with a huge presence (more on them later) and how the headlands and islands, wind & tides effect the chances of good clean swell on our coast - we can make an educated guess now based less on reliably inaccurate computer models and more on various crusty locals' combined experience.

That said, there are warm clear waters and waves aplenty a short hop via Bournemouth Airport so Surf Destinations is topic du jour this Thursday at the Moose in Ashley Cross - (near to Parkstone station on the Waterloo line and serviced by both the blue and yellow buses).

Thursdays at the Moose means 241 burgers (they were excellent) - £6.50 each and there's a Happy Hour too.
