Learn to waterski or show off that trick you did once in Greece, then try to work out what on earth you've just been handed was before it went on the BBQ.
Strength in numbers here as we can rent a fully insured boat and skipper and have ten minute blasts each for an hour or two.
Poole Harbour I'm guessing - let me know if you're interested and I'll look into it
A cheaper alternative is cable ski at JB Waterski Thorpe park (knee bards etc all available) - we used to be able to BBQ there too. Perhaps best done on a school day. They also have skiboats
http://jbski.com/wakeboard/cable-wake-park/
1 hour cable session: £23
2 hour cable session: £32
Day Pass Including all kit: £55
(Advanced booking only, not weekends in July & August)
Last hour of the day mid-week: £14 *Excludes Bank Holidays
+ Equipment if required.
Features Board: £15 per session
I'm in touch with Shell Bay Watersports - they have a 12 seater Rib with all the wakeboards that we need. I'm awaiting prices. They also do RYA powerboat training. They have suggested a weekday in May.
This is their email:
"The standard charter prices are £150 an hour, £250 for 2 hours, £450 a half day and £600 a day.
If you start doing multiple booking I can discount these a little for you and I could also offer an evening charter for £250, that you could run with a barbecue on the beach. The other days that are worth booking early are during the Bournemouth air festival 30th August to 2nd September, and evening runs to watch the firework at the Swanage Carnival 28th July, 1st August and 4th August.
So a group of four chartering a boat for an hour is £37.50 for 15 minutes wakeboarding
This compares to £31 for a fifteen minute coached session at Thorpe Park - so this is better as we don't have the travel"
