Ox Hotel

Ox Hotel

Boutique Hotel with real fires and a Thai Brasserie

  • The Ox Hotel is a gem of a place bedded in the heart of Ashley Cross, a thriving honeypot of pubs and restaurants bounding the open green triangle of Ashley Park.

Ashley Cross is on the Dorset coast two hours direct from Waterloo and the Ox Hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the station and is well placed 7 miles of flat sandy beaches of Bournemouth Poole and Studland - particularly the kite surfing, flat water SUPing & kayaking in Poole Harbour. The AONB that is Studland is an easy bus & £1 ferry ride away too (see here for more details on the area and getting around).

Back to the Ox where its all about warmth, comfort and excellent food. The pub area has a large open fire, there's a separate snug with its own fire & sofas and a third fire in the Thai Brasserie (there's a full European menu as well) so you're bound to find somewhere to settle in with a book it its tipping it down outside.

As if that wasn't enough - there's an amazing little private function building outside that oozes character that of course has its own fire too.

The rooms are all unique and range from small to big. There. Pretty sure I covered that part. The Ox was actually the first place I stayed when I came down here three years ago looking for a place that wasn't London and air that I couldn't see.

BeachPeople club members get a substantial discount on rooms in Jan, Feb and March so if you're thinking of a snug weekend getaway with a beachy/real fire vibe then this is the place you were thinking of.

Here's the link you need - http://www.oxhotel.co.uk/sleep/ - the discount will evolve and we hope to be able to offer room and dinner packages for two soon too
