No surf, high winds, sporadic rain equals

We may drive with gear to Saunton Sands once we can move again, as the beach is miles long - Croyde is relatively tiny and needs a dead-on Westerly else the headlands totally block the fetch

Hokay we are pitched at a busy but relaxed and surfy site (they rent boards at £15 per 24 hours) right by Croyde Bay

.. rather than the adult-only site at Woolacombe that I booked, for reasons too complicated to explain involving the fact that it was closed. And also a building site..

The new joint is right next to SurfFest that opens on Friday and an easy walk into old favourites like Blue Juice café and the various pubs that we usually walk to from Surfers Paradise

Tent-wise I opted for something that we can respray a tractor in

..and we are mulling over putting up the gazebo as we may head to Newquay in a few days

..where I have yet again booked us into an adult only campsite
